Keyword Density Checker
Find the most used words and phrases on a page or in text, and check where your focus keyword appears.
Keyword Density Checker
Keyword density is how often a word or phrase appears compared with the total number of words. It will not rank a page by itself, but it quickly shows what a page is really about and whether a keyword is missing, or stuffed in unnaturally. Enter a URL or paste text to see the top single words and two- and three-word phrases, and give a focus keyword to check its placement in the places that matter most.
How to use Keyword Density Checker
- Enter a page URL, or switch to text and paste your content.

Frequently asked questions
- What is the ideal keyword density?
- There is none. Google has said it does not use a target density. Write naturally; as a rough guide, a main keyword well above 3% usually reads as stuffed.
- Why are menus and footers excluded?
- For URLs the checker ignores navigation, footer, script and style content so that the counts reflect the main text.
