Domain Rating (DR) is a score from Ahrefs that shows how strong a website's backlink profile is, on a scale from 0 to 100. It is one of the most widely used measures of site authority in SEO, especially when you judge link opportunities, guest post sites or competitors. This checker shows the current DR of up to 20 domains at once, straight from Ahrefs.

How to use Domain Rating (DR) Checker

1. Enter one domain or URL per line, such as example.com. Paths and "www." are ignored, because DR belongs to the whole domain.
2. Click Check DR.
3. Compare the scores in the table, and use Copy results to paste them into a spreadsheet.

Frequently asked questions

How is Domain Rating calculated?

Ahrefs looks at how many unique websites link to a domain with followed links, and how strong those linking sites are themselves. The scale is logarithmic, so moving from DR 70 to 80 is much harder than moving from 20 to 30.

Is DR the same as Domain Authority (DA)?

No. DA is a similar 0 to 100 score made by Moz from its own link index. The two use different data and formulas, so the same site usually has a different DR and DA. Google uses neither.

Does a higher DR mean higher rankings?

Not directly. Google does not use DR. A high DR shows a strong link profile, which often goes with good rankings, but relevance, content quality and links to the specific page matter just as much.

Why does a new site show DR 0?

DR only rises once other websites link to yours and Ahrefs has found those links. A new site, or one with only a few weak links, shows 0 or a very low score.
