Video to GIF Converter
Turn a clip from any video into a looping GIF: pick the start, length, size and frame rate.
Processed in your browser: your files are never uploaded.
The video engine (FFmpeg) downloads once, about 31 MB, and then works offline in this tab. Processing runs on your own device, so long or 4K videos can take a while; keep the tab open until it finishes.
Video to GIF Converter
GIFs play everywhere without a play button: in chats, emails, documentation and social posts. This converter cuts the moment you want from a video and turns it into a smooth, looping GIF. It builds a custom colour palette for each clip, so the GIF looks much better than a typical online conversion, and you choose the width and frame rate to balance quality and file size. MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI and phone videos all work.
How to use Video to GIF Converter

- Play it and click Use player time to set the start, then pick the length (up to 30 seconds).
- Choose the width and frames per second; smaller and fewer means a lighter file.

Frequently asked questions
- How do I keep the GIF small?
- Use a width of 480 px or less, 10 to 12 frames per second and a clip under 5 seconds. For a much smaller file with better colours, use our Video to WebP converter; WebP animations work in all modern browsers.
- Why does it take a while?
- Everything is processed on your own computer or phone instead of a server. Short clips take seconds; long or 4K videos can take several minutes. Keep the tab open until it finishes.
- Are my files uploaded?
- No. The video engine runs in your browser, so your files stay on your device. Only the engine itself (FFmpeg, about 31 MB) is downloaded, once.
