You can pause and resume, and when you stop, the video plays right away so you can check it before downloading. Chrome and Edge save MP4; Firefox saves WebM. The recording never leaves your computer, and there is no watermark.

How to use Screen Recorder

Choose whether to record sound from the screen and your microphone, and the quality.
Click Start recording and pick a tab, window or your entire screen in the browser's window.
Pause and resume if you need to, and click Stop (or the browser's "Stop sharing") when you are done.
Watch the recording, then click Download.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a time limit or watermark?: No. The only limit is your computer's memory; an hour at 1080p is usually fine.
Why is there no sound from my computer?: Browsers only share sound from a tab (tick "Share tab audio") or, on Windows and ChromeOS, from the entire screen ("Share system audio"). Sharing a single window has no sound. Safari and Firefox cannot record computer sound yet.
Can I record on my phone?: No. Mobile browsers do not allow web pages to record the screen. Use your phone's built-in screen recorder.
Is my recording uploaded?: No. It is recorded and stored in your browser until you download it.
