The video engine (FFmpeg) downloads once, about 31 MB, and then works offline in this tab. Processing runs on your own device, so long or 4K videos can take a while; keep the tab open until it finishes.

Audio Trimmer

Trim a song, a voice note or a recording to exactly the part you want. Use the player to find the start and end, add a gentle fade-in and fade-out so the clip does not start or stop abruptly, and download it in the same format as the original. It is also the quickest way to make a ringtone or notification sound.

How to use Audio Trimmer

  1. Choose an audio file.
  2. Set the start and end with the player or by typing the times.
  3. Add a fade-in or fade-out if you like.
  4. Click Trim audio, listen and download.

When it comes in handy

  • Making a ringtone or alarm sound (about 30 seconds).
  • Removing silence or mistakes from the start and end of a recording.
  • Cutting a sample or intro for a video or podcast.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make an iPhone ringtone?
Trim up to 30 seconds and save as M4A with our Audio Converter, then rename the file to .m4r and add it in Finder or iTunes. Android phones accept the MP3 directly.
Which formats are supported?
MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, Opus, FLAC and more. The trimmed file is saved in the same format where possible, otherwise as MP3.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The video engine runs in your browser, so your files stay on your device. Only the engine itself (FFmpeg, about 31 MB) is downloaded, once.
