Video Speed Changer

Speed a video up or slow it down, from 0.25× slow motion to 4× time-lapse, with the sound kept in tune.

Processed in your browser: your files are never uploaded.

The video engine (FFmpeg) downloads once, about 31 MB, and then works offline in this tab. Processing runs on your own device, so long or 4K videos can take a while; keep the tab open until it finishes.

Video Speed Changer

Turn a long screen recording into a quick 2× walkthrough, make a time-lapse at 4×, or slow a moment down to 0.5× or 0.25×. The sound is sped up or slowed down with it but keeps its natural pitch, so voices do not sound like chipmunks; or remove the sound entirely for time-lapses.

How to use Video Speed Changer

  1. Choose a video.
  2. Pick the new speed.
  3. Keep the sound or remove it.
  4. Click Change speed, watch the result and download it.

When it comes in handy

  • Speeding up tutorials and screen recordings.
  • Making time-lapses from long clips.
  • Slow-motion replays of sports or pets.

Frequently asked questions

Does slow motion look smooth?
Slowing a normal 30 fps video shows each frame for longer, so 0.25× can look jerky. Videos shot at 60 or 120 fps give the smoothest slow motion.
Why does it take a while?
Everything is processed on your own computer or phone instead of a server. Short clips take seconds; long or 4K videos can take several minutes. Keep the tab open until it finishes.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The video engine runs in your browser, so your files stay on your device. Only the engine itself (FFmpeg, about 31 MB) is downloaded, once.
