AMP Validator

AMP pages only load from Google's AMP cache when they follow the AMP rules exactly: the right boilerplate, no custom JavaScript, AMP components instead of plain images and iframes, and CSS under the size limit. One mistake and the page falls back to a normal link. This tool runs the official AMP validator, the same one AMP's own tools use, in your browser. Enter a URL (a normal page that links to its AMP version works too) or paste the HTML, and you get a pass or fail with every error and warning, the line it is on and a link to the documentation that explains the fix. It also validates AMP for Email and AMP ads.

How to use AMP Validator

1. Enter the address of an AMP page, or switch to Paste HTML.
2. Click Validate AMP. The validator loads the first time (about 4 MB).
3. Fix the errors first: each one shows the line and a "How to fix" link.
4. Validate again until it passes, then ask Google Search Console to recheck the page.

Frequently asked questions

Does Google still use AMP?

AMP is no longer required for Top Stories or any ranking boost, and many sites have removed it. If your site still serves AMP pages, they should be valid, or Google shows the normal page instead.

What is the difference between errors and warnings?

Errors make the page invalid AMP. Warnings point to deprecated or risky markup that still passes, but may stop working later.

Why check the AMP version of a normal page?

Most sites keep AMP on a separate URL linked with <link rel="amphtml">. Enter the normal page and the tool follows that link.

Is my HTML sent to Google?

The validator code is downloaded from Google's AMP CDN, but the check itself runs in your browser, so pasted HTML stays on your device.
