URL Decoder
Turn %20-style percent-encoding back into a readable URL or parameter.
URL Decoder
Links copied from analytics reports, server logs or redirects are often full of %20 and %2F sequences. The decoder reverses that encoding so you can read the real address or parameter value.
How to use URL Decoder
- Paste the encoded URL into URL to Decode.
- Click Decode URL.
- Read or copy the decoded text from the result.
When it comes in handy
- Reading long tracking URLs and UTM parameters in a report.
- Inspecting redirect targets that are passed as encoded parameters.
- Checking exactly which characters a form or API sent.
Frequently asked questions
What do the sequences like %E2%80%99 mean?
They are the UTF-8 bytes of a single non-ASCII character, here a curly apostrophe. The decoder joins them back into that character.
Can decoding change the meaning of a URL?
It can. Decoding %26 gives an ampersand, which then looks like a parameter separator. Keep the encoded version for use in links and the decoded one for reading.
