Split comma-separated or other delimited text so each item gets its own line.
Text Separator
A list crammed into one line, such as comma-separated tags or keywords, is easier to work with when each item has its own line. Choose the separator character and the tool splits the text for you.
How to use Text Separator
- Paste your text into Enter your Text Here.
- Type the Character for Separation, for example a comma or a pipe.
- Click Separate Text and copy the result.
When it comes in handy
- Turning comma-separated keywords into one keyword per line.
- Preparing lists for spreadsheets or bulk tools.
- Breaking up exported data that uses a custom delimiter.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use more than one character?
Yes. The text is split wherever your separator appears exactly as typed, so a string such as ' | ' works as well as a single comma.
How do I put the lines back together?
The Text Cleaner can replace line breaks with spaces, and the Text Replacer can add your own separator.
