Redact PDF
Drawing a black rectangle over text in a PDF editor usually hides nothing: the text is still underneath and can be copied out. Redact PDF does real redaction. Draw boxes over what must go, or search for a word or number to box every occurrence, and each affected page is rebuilt as an image with the black boxes burned in, so the hidden text is gone for good. Pages without boxes stay exactly as they were, and everything happens in your browser, which matters for exactly the documents you would redact.

Frequently asked questions
- Can the redacted text be recovered?
- No. Pages with boxes are replaced by images of the page with the boxes already applied, so the original text, fonts and hidden layers on those pages are not in the new file.
- Does search find text in scanned pages?
- No. Scanned pages are pictures without text; draw boxes on them by hand.
